Popcon reports 133 installations, so I wouldn't say "noticeable number"
of users. Furthermore, the package is available in unstable only and I
can't seriously imagine anyone running Debian unstable on a server where
I would havp suspect to be installed in the first place.
Unfortunately, I just don't have time to fix the
packaging issues at the moment. The daemon itself worked well enough the
last time I used it myself.
Again, it has several open RC bugs and shouldn't be used under these
conditions anyway [1].
If you want someone else to overtake maintainership for the, you should
file a bug report against the wnpp pseudo package and orphan havp.
