Package: puppet
Version: 2.6.2-5+squeeze7
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

My puppet server has been updated to 3, but not the client since that doesn't
seem to be avilable for this platform yet. Since the update, puppet agent
--test fails on the client with:

err: Could not retrieve catalog from remote server: Error 414 on SERVER:

This seems to be a bug that's been known about for some time but hasn't
been fixed.

Hello, and thanks for reporting an issue with puppet.

The error message in your bug report is the puppet server saying that
the client is sending too large requests.

It typcially affects puppet agent versions older than 2.7. After that
version, the puppet agent switched to other types of requests (POST
instead of GET).

The maximum request URI length is a configuration setting on the web
server used by the puppet master, so I'll close this bug report.
