I am currently performing a fresh installation of Wheezy using Debian Installer RC2 since the system I previously tested to install wine-bin:i386 had some unstable packages pulled in. Once the installation has finished, I will try to install wine with the aforementioned procedure through dpkg --add-architecture and apt. If everything works fine, I'll go ahead and close this bug.
