Package: grep
Version: 2.5.1.ds2-3
Severity: critical

The new grep package linked to libpcre renders the whole system
unbootable if /usr does not reside on the root partition. Boot scripts
which are executed before /usr is mounted already use grep and fail
badly wiothout an libpcre being available!

Greetings,

  Gunter

It is fixed in grep_2.5.1.ds2-4.

Version grep_2.5.1.ds1-4 will be available soon at:

http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/grep/

Meanwhile, grep_2.5.1.ds2-4 source, i386, sparc, alpha and hppa
packages are available at http://people.debian.org/~anibal/grep/.
