Package: grep
Version: 2.5.1.ds2-2
Severity: grave
Justification: causes non-serious data loss

grep grep_2.5.1.ds2-2 is linked dynamically against libpcre,
which lives in /usr/lib. This causes the bin to fail
to execute before /usr is mounted.

This is grave because: grep is used in early scripts including
those which mount filesystems, and thus mounts fail and the
system needs to have filesystems mounted manually from the
console to come back up. A downgrade to grep_2.5.1.ds2-1, which
does not dynamically link against libpcre, restores grep
functionality.
