I've just downgraded and rebooted to the unstable version of the
packages and everything works now. Since I'm tracking the unstable
distribution, I'm not able to say if the versions I had installed were
slighty different two days ago: as is I guess the bug is
unreproducible. Anyway, thank you for your help.
