lenny->squeeze->wheezy works now, but it leaves cruft around,
looks like a proper deregistration of the emacs22 flavor is missing:

  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/     not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-auto.el ->
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emms/emms-auto.el         not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-auto.elc        not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-bookmarks.el ->
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emms/emms-bookmarks.el       not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-bookmarks.elc   not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-browser.el ->
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emms/emms-browser.el   not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-browser.elc     not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-cache.el ->
/usr/share/emacs/site-lisp/emms/emms-cache.el       not owned
  /usr/share/emacs22/site-lisp/emms/emms-cache.elc       not owned
...
