I did try that. And while I can reproduce the crash with 1.12.2-2, I can't with 1.12.2-2+deb7u2 (resp. 1.12.2-2.1+deb7u1) so this is kinda odd that you still run into this problem. Can you update all cairo related packages to 1.12.2-2.1+deb7u1 and restart evince / your desktop session.
