This bug makes this package in question mostly unusable for printer
configuration but it may, I understand, escape literal definition of the
grave bug since the package provides other configuration capability. I
filed this as the *grave* bug hoping to open opportunity to upload fix
using FREEZE exception rule.
I hope Debian wheezy provides useful GNOME experiences.
"Printer" dialog has following issues:
* Detecting local USB printer is very slow (after few seconds).
* Adding local USB printer with "+" as new causes error by displaying i
"Failed to add new printer" with RED stop circle sign.
* Removing local USB printer added by other programs by clicking "-" does
not have any impact and printer stays there.
Reference info:
* I have well working CUPS system which can add/remove printers :-)
* "system-config-printer" command works fine
Printer detection of USB printer is immediate.
* "sensible-browser http://localhost:631/"; command works fine
* I have added lpadmin group membership.
So this does not seem to be the result of http://bugs.debian.org/667995
My desktop user belongs to groups: lp, sudo, plugdev, lpadmin, ...
If you tell me where/what to look for logging info, I can post it here.
