With luck TTYtter comes out of beta soon. The version currently in repo will work just fine with Identica **but** that's still an off-label usage that isn't really fully supported and is supposed to start breaking with the API divergence. Cameron outlined what will stop working once Twitter goes to API 1.1 in February and it remains a significant chunk of functionality.
