I'm the Debian Maintainer for dvgrab.
I have received a bugreport for it.
Since ieee1394 driver was removed from Linux 2.6.37 it
is not possible to use dvgrab any more.

Unfortunately there is no new version since 2010.

Are there plans to port dvgrab to new FireWire stack?
