Package: blitz++
Version: 1:0.8-5
Severity: important

Hi,

I have been trying to compile my C++ code, which uses the blitz library, and I
got a bunch of errors[1] in templates of blitz things that were instantiated by
variables in my code. I searched on the errors I was getting, and found some
discussion in the blitz++ mailing list about this problem [2][3][4].

Following the suggestion in the discussion, I downloaded the blitz++ cvs
sources, compiled them and installed the library so produced. My own code now
compiles with no errors, so I think that this is indeed the solution to the
problem.

Could you please update the Debian blitz++ package to use the sources from cvs,
so that it will work with gcc4, which I understand is now the default compiler.

Thanks,

Helen

[1] Sorry, but I've lost the log of them since I recompiled successfully just
now - I will try to regenerate the errors if you really need to see them, but
it'll require re-breaking stuff that I have spent all day working out how to
fix, so I prefer not to do that unless you need it
