Package: ttf-mscorefonts-installer Version: 3.4+nmu1 Severity: serious Justification: Policy 2.2.1 The main archive area
I have filed this as serious since missing "Provides: fonts-liberation" is blocking effective fixes to the existing serious bugs (one of it is RC bug , the other is wheezy ignore type). * libphp-jpgraph http://bugs.debian.org/691933 (serious and RC) * libreoffice http://bugs.debian.org/691937 (serious but non-RC) As you know main area package can not list non-free/contrib in recommends or depends per policy. But in many cases, one feels like listing the following to ensure automatic font installation: fonts-liberation | ttf-mscorefonts-installer This is serious bug per policy 2.2.1. This situation can be avoided by this contrib package listing: Provides: fonts-liberation If you think this resolution of this RC situation is not the right one, please downgrade severity while pointing us better solution. (I know these other package can list fonts-liberation in recommends while suggesting ttf-mscorefonts-installer as another resolution. But the fix I propose here will prevent people tempted to list ttf-mscorefonts-installer after | for ever.) Thanks.
