installing `lightdm` it runs, but the greeter does not show up. :/ Only
a blinking cursor in the top left corner on VT 7.
Somehow the X server is just closed

Ok, X is run by lightdm itself, not the greeter, which has nothing to do
with this. Recommends: is enough to cover the most common setups and
still allow for more uncommon ones, so closing.
