Well I think that's a design bug then in bind, ... cause it can’t just grow and grow... and then die when it runs out of memory. There should a) be a reasonable maximum default for the used memory like... us around 10% of the whole memory... and b) even if one disables this... it should start to release cached stuff (and the respective memory) when it sees that the OS runs out of free memory.
