I had thought about that. The issue is more with particular automatically populated values like "strength" in wireless-settings.conf. Except for the state values. The robust solution would be to store those elsewhere. The /var/lib approach is simply something achievable now without waiting an indeterminate amount of time for that upstream fix to happen. What would you like me to do about the deferred nmu?
