The problem is caused by swi-prolog autodetecting libraries and trying ncursesw first, and it was installed on my machine when I was building the package.
The least intrusive solution IMHO would be to just Build-Conflict with libncursesw5-dev. Will release team accept unblock request for package with such change? Regards, Eugeniy Meshcheryakov
