There is a patch of unknown quality for making this work with
MediaWiki 1.19 here:

Hrm. I’ve never used fckeditor myself, and nobody said anything
about this during the call for testing.
It seems the future (but not yet present) of visual editing in
MediaWiki is <http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:VisualEditor>.
So what do you suggest? We could apply the patch and hope
for the best (if the release team allows) or drop the
mediawiki-extensions-fckeditor package and make the new
version of mediawiki-extensions-base Conflict with it,
to ensure it’s gone, but we will not be able to package
VisualEditor for wheezy now, that we’re in the freeze.
The patch is way too big for a freeze exception (and entirely
inappropriate in its current form anyway). VisualEditor is, to quote
upstream, "not nearly ready for real-world applications yet". At this
stage of a freeze your only sensible option, technically, is to remove
the extension (please ensure there is a NEWS entry for this change, to
avoid breaking upgrades). Local administrators can take the decision
whether to run that patch on their systems, we should not decide this
for them.
