This bug makes alpine "in the package maintainer's... opinion",
"unsuitable for release", as per
http://www.debian.org/Bugs/Developer#severities
(I will say I'm open to discussion on the topic.)
The first thing that every new alpine user will see is an enthusiastic
message which, upon execution, leads to an error in their inbox in short
order. That's just absurd.
I'm working on untangling my changes in VCS from the NMU that recently
took place, and will then bring this up to the release team.
Other thoughts welcome!
