It seems that since the split of the nut package into nut-client and nut-server, the postinstall script of the nut-server package is modifying /etc/nut/nut.conf which is owned by nut-client package. I guess that the complete /etc/default/nut → /etc/nut/nut.conf migration code should be moved to the nut-client package, or even better completely removed as Squeeze has nut 2.4.3-1.1squeeze1 which has been release after that migration?
