Package: msva-perl
Version: 0.8-2
Severity: critical
After doing a wheezy-to-wheezy upgrade on this laptop, logging in to
my session now seems impossible. This is my .xsession-errors:
/etc/gdm3/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Better hope you get what you want before you stop wanting it.
localuser:anarcat being added to access control list
openConnection: connect: Connection refused
cannot connect to brltty at :0
Use of uninitialized value $loglevel in lc at
/usr/share/perl5/Crypt/Monkeysphere/MSVA/Logger.pm line 91.
2 sockets open; should have been 1.
The problem likely lies in the two last lines. The first of those is
probably not the cause, since pabs reported in #642304 that this
wasn't affecting his session (or at least it's marked minor).
However, the last line is a problem. It is not clear according to the
log, but I believe the validation agent is just crashing there, and
taking the whole session with it as it goes (and therefore #682353
could be related).
Indeed, after apt-get removing the msva-perl package, all things
return to normal and I am able to log back in again and... file this
bug report. :)
A.
