Thanks for the report. It appears that the actual problem was spurious inclusion of an empty /var/log/amanda directory in the amanda-server package, which I've cleaned up. The intent was for the amanda-common postinst to create the directory if it does not already exist and force it to have appropriate permissions, then to rm -rf it in postrm on purge. Since all amanda packages depend on amanda-common, that should be fine. Bdale
