I believe the -R option required a parameter, and you haven't supplied it a parameter. The man page says "-R, --fs-root <path>" The current version says for the current command line "Parse error: Missing -c -x -d -t -l -C -+ option, see `dar -h' for help" because it takes -c to be the parameter for -R.
