Package: src:linux Version: 3.2.20-1 Severity: critical Justification: causes serious data loss
Watching videos with VLC often leads to complete freeze of my machine. Especially when pausing a video or rezising the window. I have a workaround for this bug: At bootprompt i can add "radeon.modeset=0" and then this crash will not happen anymore. Here i added several complete /var/log folders from 4 crashes (all without my workaround, obviously): http://www.multiupload.nl/DO0BJCB1F2 The first 2 i prepared right after the crash. I did a hard reset of the machine and booted right into recovery mode. From there i copied the whole /var/log folder to crash1 and by the next freeze to crash2. I hope this will give you valuable information. Crash3 and crash 4 i did a normal cold start of the machine, entering graphical mode directly (i.e. without first booting into recovery mode). This bug is bugging me since 2.6.32. Please do something about it. -- Package-specific info: ** Version: Linux version 3.2.0-2-686-pae (Debian 3.2.20-1) (debian-ker...@lists.debian.org) (gcc version 4.6.3 (Debian 4.6.3-7) ) #1 SMP Mon Jun 11 18:27:04 UTC 2012 ** Command line: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.2.0-2-686-pae root=/dev/mapper/hda9_crypt ro quiet ** Not tainted ** Kernel log: [ 1.563492] [drm] DFP1: INTERNAL_TMDS1 [ 1.563494] [drm] Connector 2: [ 1.563496] [drm] S-video [ 1.563497] [drm] Encoders: [ 1.563499] [drm] TV1: INTERNAL_DAC2 [ 1.563507] [drm] Possible lm63 thermal controller at 0x4c [ 1.596879] ohci_hcd: USB 1.1 'Open' Host Controller (OHCI) Driver [ 1.596938] ohci_hcd 0000:00:09.0: PCI INT A -> Link[LNKB] -> GSI 11 (level, low) -> IRQ 11 [ 1.596972] ohci_hcd 0000:00:09.0: OHCI Host Controller [ 1.596995] ohci_hcd 0000:00:09.0: new USB bus registered, assigned bus number 5 [ 1.597030] ohci_hcd 0000:00:09.0: irq 11, io mem 0xea000000 [ 1.624060] Refined TSC clocksource calibration: 2071.022 MHz.
