tags 333856 - pending thanks Jeff and Maximilian, i don't really understand what is happening here, the plan i proposed on october 9 was sent to d-k as well as to the initramfs-tools package, and i have seen no comment from you on this, and i even implemented the solution in the svn repo, and jonas cleaned it up, so why have we seen two uploads pass without it being applied, and at the same time seeing no explanation, reasons, critics of the chosen plan, whatever ? Not even a followup to this bug report.
The situation right now is that a user cannot chose initramfs-tools, which is not what i had planed, expecting initramfs-tools to follow the proposal shortly, which is partly a good thing since jonas proposed an even cleverer method that should satisfy everyone, but it would have still been nice to have some more support and feedback from you guys about this. I mean i asked for comments, and if you disliked the proposal why didn't you comment about it, so a better solution could have been found ?
