Thanks for reporting the bug, I tried to reproduce it and I couldn't I installed the stable version:
sudo apt-get install -t stable haml-elisp Get:1 http://ftp.de.debian.org/pub/debian/ stable/main haml-elisp all 3.0.15-1 Then upgraded it to sid: sudo apt-get install -t stable haml-elisp Get:1 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ unstable/main haml-elisp all 1:3.0.15-3 but the installation was sucessful. Reading the logs you sent: cp: `haml-mode.el' and `/usr/share/emacs23/site-lisp/haml-elisp/haml-mode.el' are the same file it seems that /usr/share/emacs23/site-lisp/haml-elisp/haml-mode.el already exists and I guess it shouldn't , do you have any idea why /usr/share/emacs23/site-lisp/haml-elisp/haml-mode.el exists on your system?
