A few minutes ago I ran aptitude to upgrade all but the libc6 packages and pulled in 0.9.8a-1 versions of libssl and openssl. But right after an uneventful install, I saw that ssh would always segfault. So I downgraded those two packages and now ssh works again. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.13.4 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages libssl0.9.8 depends on: ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.4.58 Debian configuration management sy ii libc6 2.3.5-6 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8-3 SSL shared libraries libssl0.9.8 recommends no packages. -- debconf information: libssl0.9.8/restart-services: --------------------------------------- Received: (at 334596-done) by bugs.debian.org; 18 Oct 2005 21:46:16 +0000 >From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Oct 18 14:46:16 2005 Return-path: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Received: from hoboe1bl1.telenet-ops.be [195.130.137.72] by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.36 1 (Debian)) id 1ERzHk-0002hw-00; Tue, 18 Oct 2005 14:46:16 -0700 Received: from localhost (localhost.localdomain [127.0.0.1]) by hoboe1bl1.telenet-ops.be (Postfix) with SMTP id 605B0380AD; Tue, 18 Oct 2005 23:46:15 +0200 (CEST) Received: from Q.roeckx.be (dD5775F4A.access.telenet.be [213.119.95.74]) by hoboe1bl1.telenet-ops.be (Postfix) with ESMTP id 39C7238082; Tue, 18 Oct 2005 23:46:15 +0200 (CEST) Received: by Q.roeckx.be (Postfix, from userid 501) id D9B6D26138; Tue, 18 Oct 2005 23:46:14 +0200 (CEST) Date: Tue, 18 Oct 2005 23:46:14 +0200 From: Kurt Roeckx <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Jim Meyering <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [Pkg-openssl-devel] Bug#334596: libssl0.9.8: upgrade to 0.9.8a-1 makes ssh segfault Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> References: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline In-Reply-To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> User-Agent: Mutt/1.4.2.1i Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 (1.212-2003-09-23-exp) on spohr.debian.org X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, hits=-6.0 required=4.0 tests=BAYES_00,HAS_BUG_NUMBER autolearn=no version=2.60-bugs.debian.org_2005_01_02 Version: 0.9.8a-2 thanks This has already been fixed and should be in the archive tomorrow.
