When you say you're preparing it now, do you have an idea of when it'll be uploaded? The reason I ask is that dvi2ps is currently part of a transition to libkpathsea6 (as part of texlive 2011) which is why I tried rebuilding it and filed a bug in the first place. Almost all of the other packages involved have already been rebuilt and I was planning on looking at whether we can get the affected packages (which also implies all of the texlive packages afaics) migrated during next week. Depending on the kind of timescales you were thinking of, it might be worth considering letting the NMU stand so the migration can (hopefully) be completed and then update to the new upstream when you're ready.
