Package: speechd-el
Version: 2.4-2
Severity: serious
User: debian...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: piuparts

Hi,

during a test with piuparts I noticed your package failed to install. As
per definition of the release team this makes the package too buggy for
a release, thus the severity.

>From the attached log (scroll to the bottom...):

0m35.8s DEBUG: Starting command: ['chroot', '/tmp/piupartss/tmp086RQo',
'eatmydata', 'apt-get', '-y', 'install', 'speechd-el=2.4-2']
20m35.8s ERROR: Terminating command due to excessive runtime
20m36.3s DUMP:

***** Command was terminated after exceeding runtime limit (1200 s) *****

Since that didn't produce any output, I tried it manually and installed
the package in a minimal sid chroot:

[...]

Wrote /usr/share/emacs23/site-lisp/speechd-el/braille.elc

and there the installation hangs ... with this process running:
  emacs23 --batch -l speechd-compile.el -f speechd-compile --kill

This process has been running for more than one hour using 100% CPU
(one core fully utilized) before I killed it. strace and ltrace on the
process did not produce any output - is it stuck in a busy loop?

cheers,

Andreas
