Do as it says. It doesn't say that for no reason. The unopkg in your first 
attempt failed
and that kept the .lock it seems.

I don't think rm'ing that lock is good (even though one could check for 
soffice.bin|unopkg.bin not there and the
.lock there, but...)

Yes, noticed that too. But that's not a grave bug, neither a serious
one. Maybe an important one if it makes the help not work, though :-)

Except that .lock  thing which you fixed there's nothing exactly new here
(or I have overseen something.) - except that the upgrade worked.
