This is actually a bug in libxml-libxml-perl before 1.94, see https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=75505 I've built libxml-libxml-perl 1.95+dfsg-1 and was able to confirm that the test in libxml-atom-microformats-perl no longer fails.
