Package: xiphos Version: 3.1.4-3 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable
Dear Maintainer, Xiphos fails to start and exits with a segfault after upgrading libsword8 to 1.6.2+dfsg-1. This makes xiphos unusable on systems where this upgrade has occurred. I resolved this segfault by rebuilding xiphos against libsword8 1.6.2+dfsg-1. After rebuilding xiphos with the newer libsword it works as expected. The solution appears to initiate a build against libsword8 1.6.2+dfsf-1. As there appears to be a binary incompatibility between the two libsword8s, perhaps the dependencies should be clarified. This bug also effects ubuntu, see: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xiphos/+bug/783019 Thank you. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (901, 'unstable'), (550, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages xiphos depends on: ii gconf-service 3.2.3-3 ii libatk1.0-0 2.2.0-2 ii libc6 2.13-27 ii libcairo2 1.10.2-6.2 ii libdbus-1-3 1.4.18-1 ii libdbus-glib-1-2 0.98-1 ii libenchant1c2a 1.6.0-7 ii libfontconfig1 2.8.0-3.1 ii libfreetype6 2.4.8-1 ii libgcc1 1:4.6.2-16 ii libgconf-2-4 3.2.3-3 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.24.1-1 ii libglade2-0 1:2.6.4-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.30.2-6 ii libgsf-1-114 1.14.21-2 ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.10-1 ii libgtkhtml-editor-3.14-0 3.32.2-2.1 ii libgtkhtml3.14-19 3.32.2-2.1 ii libpango1.0-0 1.29.4-2 ii libstdc++6 4.6.2-16 ii libsword8 1.6.2+dfsg-1 ii libxml2 2.7.8.dfsg-7 ii xiphos-data 3.1.4-3 xiphos recommends no packages.
