Package: dh-apparmor Severity: grave Version: 2.7.0-1 Hi,
Package: dh-apparmor Replaces: debhelper (<< 9.20120115ubuntu2) Breaks: debhelper (<< 9.20120115ubuntu2) Given current sid has debhelper 9.20120115, this makes dh-apparmor not co-installable with it. As a result, dh-apparmor is not usable in current sid, is it? If I'm not mistaken, this blocks me from suggesting Debian maintainers to ship AppArmor profiles with their packages. I don't understand why these relationships are here in the first place. It seems to me a conflict that could arise would be with a future version of debhelper that would ship the postinst-apparmor and postrm-apparmor autoscripts, rather than with older (i.e. current or past) versions. If this were to happen, I think debhelper itself would have to Replaces: and Breaks: dh-apparmor, not the contrary. Am I confused? (As a side note, it's not clear to me what's the point of this package at all. I see Ubuntu ships dh-apparmor support as part of their debhelper package. Has this support ever been submitted to the debhelper upstream / Debian maintainer, did they refuse to ship it? Actually, I find the split package approach a bit cleaner, but reducing the Debian / Ubuntu delta seems important too :) Cheers, -- intrigeri | GnuPG key @ https://gaffer.ptitcanardnoir.org/intrigeri/intrigeri.asc | OTR fingerprint @ https://gaffer.ptitcanardnoir.org/intrigeri/otr.asc | Who wants a world in which the guarantee that we shall not | die of starvation would entail the risk of dying of boredom ? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
