Package: autofs5-ldap
Version: 5.0.4-3.2+b1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

Triing to connect Debian Wheezy, (and also all versions of Ubuntu > 10.04)
to a DebianEdu mainserver (Kerbero/LDAP/NFSv4) leads to autofs
hanging and a fail to import users directories and this in an unpredictable
fashion (sometimes works, sometimes not)

Investigating this problem I've seen that autofs starts too early on boot
and if the network interface is not set, hangs without being able to
retrive the needed LDAP informations later on.

A quick fix is to restart autofs with a script placed in

/etc/network/if-up.d/autofs

According to:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/40189/comments/32

In Wheezy, instead of using "reload autofs" a direct call to the init script
like:

/etc/init.d/autofs restart

seems to fix the problem.

Best regards

Giorgio Pioda
