Hi Release Managers, in case someone sees this: I think this bug should be tagged squeeze-ignore and I need to communicate better¹ that only the latest version of mksh (in backports, for squeeze) can be used as /bin/sh due to fixes in mksh, better POSIX compat and workarounds for bugs or assumptions in other Debian pak- kages (such as this one). While it’s technically possible to backport this fix (and its followup), I don’t think that will be the end of such issues.
① I tried to add a comment to this effect to the QA page, but the mail never showed up. Maybe a Wiki page where I describe the current minimum version of mksh for safe /bin/sh use? bye, //mirabilos -- Support mksh as /bin/sh and RoQA dash NOW! ‣ src:bash (242 (261) bugs: 0 RC, 169 (183) I&N, 73 (78) M&W, 0 F&P) ‣ src:dash (73 (84) bugs: 3 RC, 27 (30) I&N, 43 (51) M&W, 0 F&P) ‣ src:mksh (1 bug: 0 RC, 0 I&N, 1 M&W, 0 F&P) http://qa.debian.org/data/bts/graphs/d/dash.png is pretty red, innit? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
