Package: libxcb1
Version: 1.8-1
Severity: critical
Justification: makes unrelated software on the system break

Hello,

since libxcb1 upgraded to 1.8-1 alsamixer segfaults on startup.
Downgrading libxcb1 to 1.7-4 fixes this.
The system is a typical workstation with all the GNOME-bloat (and hence
also pulseaudio) installed.

root@darkside:~# COLUMNS=72 dpkg -l libxcb1 | grep ^i
ii libxcb1 1.7-4 X C Binding
root@darkside:~# echo q | alsamixer
Segmentation fault (core dumped)
root@darkside:~# dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/libxcb1_1.7-4_i386.deb
dpkg: warning: downgrading libxcb1 from 1.8-1 to 1.7-4.

Thanks for your work & best regards
