This FTBFS is caused by hardcoded Python version as 2.5.
Is there any reason to set 2.5? Just change to 2.7, built fine.

No, there is no good reason. This is me who hardcoded 2.5 in the NMU. This sounded like a good idea at that point (python-old-doctools was extract from python2.5-dev package after all).

I will prepare NMU in a moment.
