Not reading the remainding parts of your ramblings, I think you should work on your politeness, really. Insulting a member of the project that has experience is not helping you in your quest. Probably you're just leaking a -Werror from your environment to the package build. I'd try to build with "env -i", but I don't know if that's guaranteed to work for a package build.
