You need to do a distclean. Your random .depend crap has absolute paths in it, I'm guessing you tarred up your source directory on one machine, did a "make clean" on the other and then tried to rebuild? Just "clean" won't remove the horrible workaround infrastructure people keep trying to slap on top of "make" to disguise the fact it had outlived its usefulness by the late 1980's.
