I don't seem to be able to reproduce this. Does it still happen in wheezy or sid with 1.5.4-1, recently uploaded? If so, could you attach the /usr/share/soundconverter/soundconverter-logo.svg file to the bug report, please? And, if possible, and strace of trying to launch soundconverter? (Use the command "strace -o soundconverter.strace soundconverter" on the command line, then attach the soundconverter.strace file to the bug report.)
