Subject: kile: causes computer to crash
Package: kile
Version: 1:2.1.0~svn2010122beta5-1
Justification: breaks the whole system
Severity: critical
Tags: upstream

When starting kile, the computer freezes, I get no response from the mouse or
keyboard and the caps lock and scroll lock lights flash. Bug is fully
reproducible. Bug occurs using xfce or twm, and using nv or nvidia drivers.

I got messages similar to the one I will reproduce below, although I noticed a
message:

  qUncompress: Input data is corrupted

I tried uninstalling everything kde I could think of and reinstalling kile, but
I still get the same error. Because everything stops I had to copy out the
output below by hand, so if there are typos, I apologise. The following output
occured when I was in twm, having freshly booted, and all I had opened was a
terminal. If there is anything else I can give that would be helpful, please
let me know.

  $ kile
  kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_klauncher.so
  Connecting todeprecated signal
QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)
  kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kded.so
  QMetaObject::invokeMethod: No such method
KUniqueApplication::loadCommandLineOptionsForNewInstance()
  kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kbuildsycoca4.so
  kbuildsycoca4 running...
  kbuildsycoca4(7941)/kdecore (services) KServicePrivate::init: The desktop
entry file "/usr/shar/applications/kde/kresources.desktop" has Type=
"Application" but also has a X-KDE-Library key. This works for now, but makes
user-preference handling difficult, so support for this might be removed at
some point. Consider splitting it into two desktop files.
  kbuildsycoca4(7941) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry x-scheme-
handler/file in "/home/alex/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list" is not
compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon).
  kbuildsycoca4(7941) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry x-scheme-
handler/Trash in "/home/alex/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list" is not
compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon).
  kdeinit4: preparing to launch /usr/lib/libkdeinit4_kconf_update.so
  Connecting todeprecated signal
QDBusConnectionInterface::serviceOwnerChanged(QString,QString,QString)

Before the last two lines came up, the kile splash screen comes up saying "kile
2.1 beta 5". Sometimes the last two lines are the other way around. What I have
just copied out is just the output from the last time I ran it (I let it crash
the computer so that I could get the above. I don't really like crashing my
computer).

Any help gratefully appreciated.

Thanks,

Alex
