There have been quite some changes in the ecasound package itself. They 
happened just before the libaudio-ecasound-perl v1.01-2 upload. I think 
that's why it used to build on corelli but now it doesn't anymore.

It's just a wild guess though, maybe contacting the mips people may shed
some light on this.
