It adds support for many of the same laptops acerhk did, though not all of them. What kind of laptop do you use? Does the standard kernel recognize it? If so, what features is it missing? I ask because fixing Linus's kernel seems like a possibly rewarding way to fix this, instead of hunting down the necessary tweaks to the out-of-tree version each time an API changes.
