This appears to be a matter of an incorrect DEB_JARS: if I edit debian/rules 
and change "excalibur-logkit" to "logkit" the package builds just fine.  (Or 
maybe the bug is in libexcalibur-logkit-java, if dropping the excalibur-
logkit.jar symlink was an oversight in the recent upload.)

This issue has already been fixed yesterday.
