Package: pcmanfm Version: 0.9.8-1 Followup-For: Bug #605760 I ran into this bug after installing lxde tonight, and figured out what's actually happening. I saw the behavior you described, then ran "killall pcmanfm". As expected, this killed the icon/wallpaper management. Then, from an instance of lxterminal, I invoked "pcmanfm" directly. It started normally, but didn't restart the desktop management. Somehow, when pcmanfm is started from lxpanel via the panel shortcut or menu item, it (re)starts the desktop management and exits the actual file manager. It starts normally when invoked from a shell.
Inspecting the .desktop file (/usr/share/applications/pcmanfm.desktop) I see that the actual command invoked is "pcmanfm %U", which presumably starts the desktop-management. Maybe this needs to be moved into the autostart configuration, and the .desktop entry should just contain "pcmanfm"? -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.0.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages pcmanfm depends on: ii libc6 2.13-20 Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib ii libcairo2 1.10.2-6.1 The Cairo 2D vector graphics libra ii libfm-gtk0 0.1.14-2 file management support - GTK+ GUI ii libfm0 0.1.14-2 file management support - core lib ii libglib2.0-0 2.28.6-1 The GLib library of C routines ii libgtk2.0-0 2.24.5-4 GTK+ graphical user interface libr ii libpango1.0-0 1.28.4-3 Layout and rendering of internatio ii libx11-6 2:1.4.4-1 X11 client-side library Versions of packages pcmanfm recommends: ii gnome-icon-theme 3.0.0-4 GNOME Desktop icon theme pn gvfs-backends <none> (no description available) pn gvfs-fuse <none> (no description available) ii lxde-icon-theme 0.0.1+svn20091206-2 LXDE Standard icon theme pcmanfm suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-rc-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
