I forewarded the problem to debian-mentors list anyway - I admit I have no idea what this might mean. > Point3: Under Education there is no entry of epigrass on my system.
Umm, good point. While this is surely differently than it should be regarding the menu system - the package just does not belong into the Education section but it is rather Science. On the other hand: I just realise that on my system. I do not have the slightest idea why the Epigrass entry is missing in your Education section. Technically it should be there but from the content of the package (and not only this) Education is just bloated by several Scientific packages which are simply stupidly placed there. This should probably be discussed elsewhere. > Point2: ->??? Sorry, but I´am not sure what you mean -> I reside mainly > on openSUSE, so is this a debian specifica or a education missing of mine? I admit I'm a bit menu-ignorant and my workflow *always* includes pressing a shortcut key to fire up a terminal and type the program I want to start. That's just faster for *me* but it disables me to see other peoples problem with menus (which is bad). > And with "start in GNOME" I mean mouse clicking on the desktop menu, not > console. All trough menu: applications->science -> whatever application My gues is that Xfce and GNOME menus are simply differently organised. This would explain the different views we both have. > And yes in the future I will be careful with "grave". -> Thank you for > the hint-> as I wrote: I´am not so familiar with the debian ecosystem. That's perfectly fine. As I said I really appreciate your effort to do some user experience quality checking. It is better to file a bug at all even with the wrong severity and we discuss / fix this later rather than keeping silent and do report nothing. So just keep on your checks and report problems.
