Yes, changing the path in /etc/java-6-openjdk/security/nss.cfg makes this work again. Last night when I tried this it didn't seem to work; I got an actual crash, with "*** glibc detected *** java: free(): invalid next size (fast): 0x00007fb9a8509bf0 ***", but today that does not happen. I think that crash may have happened while I still had incorrect remnants of an earlier attempt to fix the problem still in place.
