Package: socketapi Version: 1.3.2-2 Severity: serious Justification: FTBFS Hi Anibal,
The latest upload of socketapi has failed to build on arm and m68k, and will also fail to build on hppa eventually, with the following error: [...] /bin/sh ../libtool --mode=compile g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/usr/include -g -O2 -D_REENTRANT -D_THREAD_SAFE -DSCTP_SOCKET_API -Wall -O0 -g -DLINUX -O0 -g -Wall -DLINUX -c -o libsctpsocket_la-internetaddress.lo est -f 'internetaddress.cc' || echo './' nternetaddress.cc g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -I/usr/include -g -O2 -D_REENTRANT -D_THREAD_SAFE -DSCTP_SOCKET_API -Wall -O0 -g -DLINUX -O0 -g -Wall -DLINUX -c internetaddress.cc -MT libsctpsocket_la-internetaddress.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/libsctpsocket_la-internetaddress.TPlo -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/libsctpsocket_la-internetaddress.o internetaddress.cc: In member function 'String InternetAddress::_ZTv0_n40_NK15InternetAddress16getAddressStringEj(cardinal) const': internetaddress.cc:763: internal compiler error: in cp_expr_size, at cp/cp-objcp-common.c:101 Please submit a full bug report, with preprocessed source if appropriate. See <URL:http://gcc.gnu.org/bugs.html> for instructions. For Debian GNU/Linux specific bug reporting instructions, see <URL:file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.0/README.Bugs>. make[2]: *** [libsctpsocket_la-internetaddress.lo] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory /build/buildd/socketapi-1.3.2/socketapi' make[1]: *** [install-recursive] Error 1 [...] A full build log can be found at <http://buildd.debian.org/fetch.php?&pkg=socketapi&ver=1.3.2-2&arch=arm&stamp=1124528994&file=log&as=raw>. This is a (by now) well-known bug in gcc-4.0, which unfortunately will probably take a while to resolve. In order to work around the bug, it is recommended that you build-depend on g++-3.4 [arm hppa m68k] and use that compiler explicitly on those architectures, as described by Adeodato Simó here: http://lists.debian.org/debian-devel-announce/2005/09/msg00000.html Cheers, -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
