Source: dbus Version: 1.4.10-1 Severity: serious Justification: fails to build from source
My recent upload of dbus uses hardening-includes to choose compiler options, which I'd hoped would use appropriate runes to turn off bits of hardening on architectures with broken toolchains. However, some architectures still seem unhappy. Filing this bug to indicate that I'm aware of it. dbus upstream uses -Wl,--gc-sections -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections for some reason; that might be part of the problem. The buildd logs aren't as informative as they could be, because I forgot to disable "silent rules" (already fixed in git for the next upload). This can be worked around by passing "V=1" to make.
