I intended to ship a NEWS.Debian file with my package takeover,
but realised after the dput I forgot to do so. The file should
be in there to document some of the intrusive changes resulting
from the takeover, to reduce the unexpectedness of the changes.

http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/best-pkging-practices.html#bpp-news-debian

RC severity to prevent cvs from migrating to testing before this
gets fixed (I plan an upload within not too large a timeframe,
after some more bug triaging, probably).

Suggestions from actual CVS users who tested the package in
unstable for what to list in NEWS.Debian (possibly including
wording) is _very_ welcome! (I’m not familiar with all the
things that went into Debian’s former cvs packaging, only
that some things were good – they’re still there unless they
broke something – and some were broken, questionable or simply
don’t fit with how CVS should be used in this millennium ;-)
That’s why the “help” tag is there.
